Book Hotels Online

What a Consumer Wants

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Are you trying to figure out what you really want from a website online that books hotels?  Probably you have already figured out what you want, but for those who get frustrated it is important that you make known what you don’t like about a website when you are searching for hotels.  After all, the hotel is going to be your place of residence for the duration of your vacation.  So when you check out the website for hotels make sure you can find what you need.  Part of enjoying your holiday experience is choosing the right hotel and being happy with your decision. Here are a few pointers for questions you should be asking as the consumer.

•    First if the hotel website doesn’t offer the information, call the hotel and ask when it was built and when it was last renovated.  You should be able to get that information.  If you can’t, you may find it is not the hotel for you.
•    Next you should ask if there is any construction in the area.  Is the hotel next door being renovated, is the highway being worked on, how close is the highway?  Make sure you are not going to be annoyed by the little things.
•    You should also ask about their policies for cancelling the reservation.  Sometimes things happen that day and you can’t make the trip.  Ask what you can do if an emergency arises or if you have to postpone the date of arrival.  Many hotels are willing to work with you as long as their policy will hold.
